ABOUT ME
Yilin here.
Through my undergraduate degree in Chemistry at University College London, I found my love for visual storytelling. I loved turning scientific research into animations and graphics for non-scientific audiences and young people.
But at the time, I wasn't sure how this could be turned into a career. I loved science... but I didn't want to go down the path of research like the rest of my peers. Because I thought that academia was the only way forward, I landed a non-scientific job at a university thinking that was the end of the road - but three years later, I still had an itch to create that needed scratching.
This led to me taking a leap and quitting my job to pursue my MSc in Science Media Production in Imperial College London! My masters has provided a new found interest in exploring people's relationship between scientific culture and consumerist media such as video games. I am looking for freelance work and networking opportunities with like-minded individuals with an interest in making science more accessible to wider, non-expert audiences.
